This role requires technical expertise in administering Linux and Windows servers within a VMware virtual environment. Attention to detail is crucial in capturing customer inquiries effectively. You will collaborate with fellow administrators to address service requests and troubleshoot problems.
Your Responsibilities: - Engage with customers to address service inquiries and resolve issues.
- Provide technical support, administration, and monitoring of Linux, Microsoft, and Mac systems in a VMware environment.
- Diagnose user issues and differentiate them from broader enterprise-related problems.
- Work with customers and stakeholders to collect information, perform analyses, and develop solutions for incident tickets and requirements.
- Develop innovative solutions for complex technical challenges.
- Prepare follow-up reports including technical findings, feedback, and resolution steps for root cause analysis and process improvements.
- Support customer operations in a 24/7/365 environment and be available for on-call support after hours.
- Update operational and monitoring documentation for 24/7/365 Operations Watch personnel.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have: - Foundational knowledge of AWS or Azure cloud services.
- Familiarity with Hyper Converged Infrastructure (HCI) solutions like Dell VXRail.
- Experience with Tier 2 administration of Linux operating systems (CentOS, RHEL, or Ubuntu) and Microsoft Server (2012 R2/2016).
- Ability to support virtual desktops running Linux, Microsoft Windows, and/or MacOS.
- Experience with scripting and automation through Linux Shell scripts, PowerShell, or similar languages.
- Aptitude for troubleshooting in a dynamic environment.
- Experience in log reviews, incident analysis, and identifying trends.
- Knowledge of server patch management methodologies.
- Strong time management skills and familiarity with IT Service Management/ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow).
- Ability to triage incidents and prioritize tasks.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- A track record of effective team collaboration and process improvement.
- Must meet DoD 8570.11-IAT Level II certification requirements (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, or SSCP).
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree with 2-4 years of relevant experience or a master's degree with less than 2 years of relevant experience. Relevant experience may substitute for education.
- Preferred: Certifications in VMware (VCA/VCP), Microsoft Server Administration (MCSA), Linux Administration (Linux+), or Mac Administration (ACSP).
Security Clearance: - U.S. Citizenship is required due to government contract obligations.
- A TS/SCI clearance with a specific polygraph is required, or TS/SCI with a willingness to obtain and maintain a specific polygraph.
Compensation: We are offering a competitive pay range of $57,850.00 - $104,575.00, depending on experience and qualifications.
