ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Enterprise IT Support Officer (EITSO) - Installer (Switch Technician / VIST) to join our team in Herndon, VA . In this role, you will support a Dedicated Support Team supporting the Voice Program Recap Office (VPRO) installing network equipment, telephones (VoIP, analog, ISDN), voice media gateways and associated service modules. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Offer continued support to customers for troubleshooting and assisting with advanced features or issues related to the voice communication system to include but not limited to, assigning phone numbers, phone templates, voicemail, line appearances, call forwarding and other issues they may have.
Provide technical support to end-users in the field and other IT staff in troubleshooting voice-related issues. Escalate complex problems to higher-level engineers or vendors when necessary.
Performing high quality installations and troubleshooting a variety of telephones, running and terminating cables to voice switch equipment.
Dressing cabling appropriately according to industry and Sponsor standards.
Mounting voice and network equipment in racks, running and connecting both power and service cabling as appropriate.
Local travel may be required between customer buildings or temporary assignment to an alternate location in support of special projects.
Member of a team comprised of a variety of skills that provide coverage from 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and 4+ years of experience, or a combination of education and work experience equivalent to 8+ years.
Experience installing and troubleshooting telephone instruments and media gateways on the Sponsors classified and unclassified networks.
Experience with configuring and troubleshooting telephony hardware, including IP phones, voice gateways, PBX systems, and voice servers.
Understanding of call routing, dial plans, call forwarding, and voicemail systems configuration.
Experience in a variety of cabling areas including 110 type cross connections, RJ45 patch panels, wire wrap terminals, copper cable terminations, DSX Panel T-1 cabling, fiber terminations.
Excellent knowledge of various cabling methodologies, industry standards, troubleshooting techniques, and reading/understanding cable run lists. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with implementation on the Sponsor's new unclassified network LAN infrastructure.
Related work experience in IT hardware and cabling installation.
Experience in managing multiple installations or upgrades simultaneously, meeting deadlines, and coordinating resources effectively.
Strong communication skills due to variety of groups to be working with, such as co-workers, management, and customers; must be able to exchange accurate information.
Ability to adapt to quickly changing tasks and requirements and the ability to quickly learn new skills while on the job. Clearance Requirements: Must have a current/active TS/SCI with Polygraph. Physical Requirements: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time. Constantly operate a computer, phone, and other office equipment for extended periods of time.
Must be able to move/traverse within and between buildings and offices, position self to maintain equipment and cabling, including under the desks, while moving floor tiles, and in server closets, some of which may be confined spaces.
Must be able to move Audio/Visual or Computer equipment weighing 50+ pounds, some equipment may require team-lift or the use of carts. Ascends/descends a ladder, 10+ feet high while pulling cables and adjusting equipment.
