Position Overview:

SHR Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect III (EA III) to provide strategic architectural leadership for enterprise IT modernization efforts in support of a major federal agency. The EA will be responsible for designing and guiding the implementation of enterprise-wide IT architecture solutions, including multi-cloud, hybrid, and virtualized environments, to enhance business agility, interoperability, and mission success.

The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strategic business acumen to drive modernization initiatives from ideation through execution. This role requires the ability to collaborate across stakeholder groups, assess current state architectures, and develop robust roadmaps that enable transformation to a target state that aligns with the agency's goals.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on IT architecture, modernization, and innovation initiatives.
  • Lead the development of enterprise architecture strategies, frameworks, and reference models.
  • Analyze and evaluate existing infrastructure and systems to identify gaps and opportunities for modernization.
  • Design enterprise-level architecture for cloud adoption, digital platforms, and scalable IT operations.
  • Recommend modernization priorities, sequencing, and investment planning aligned with business outcomes.
  • Guide the development of architectural standards and ensure compliance with federal policies and frameworks.
  • Collaborate with business units, IT teams, and external vendors to define and implement technical solutions.
  • Provide technical oversight and governance during the implementation of new technologies.
  • Translate complex business requirements into enterprise architecture blueprints.
  • Contribute to business case development and support acquisition planning and technical evaluations.
Education:
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or related discipline
Certifications:

At least one of the following:
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • ITIL Certification (Foundation or higher)
  • Cloud FinOps Certified Practitioner (FOCP) or equivalent
Experience:
  • Must have 12 years or more experience
