Engineering Technician Scottsdale, AZ Contract Position Pay Estimated: $37.41-$42.41/Hour This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors, (geographical location, etc.) Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains. Responsibilities: Serve as a technical leader and mentor for new technicians while supporting engineering tasks including design, assembly, troubleshooting, and testing of complex electromechanical and prototype systems.
Interpret and work from complex engineering drawings, schematics, and diagrams to build, calibrate, test, and maintain components, devices, and systems.
Perform detailed system-level and component-level troubleshooting using diagnostic equipment and procedures.
Fabricate, install, and verify operation of specialized test equipment and laser/light transmission devices.
Lead technician activities, organize workloads, and support cross-functional collaboration with engineering, production, and test departments.
Assist in the development of preventative maintenance tasks and test specifications.
Support deployment efforts at customer sites, both CONUS and internationally.
Operate independently with minimal supervision in both lab and field environments. Qualifications: Associate's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience required.
Minimum 5 years of relevant hands-on experience supporting electromechanical systems, prototype development, or technical field work.
U.S. Citizenship required by Federal Law.
Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance is required.
Proficient in using computers and software tools, especially Microsoft Excel, for technical documentation and reporting.
Experience working on live and operational systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair.
Capable of leading and organizing technician teams in support of engineering goals.
Able to work remotely or in field environments with limited onsite support.
