Must have experience using Multimeter, Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, Etc.


Will accept 3 types of candidates:

1. A Technician with any medical device experience. They will not accept Operators or Assemblers, unless they have an Associate's Degree in Electronics.

2. Four years in the military as any type of technician including electronics, avionics, nuclear, RF, missile fire control, etc. Will also consider people that have worked as mechanics including heavy wheel mechanic.

3. An electronic technician outside of the semiconductor industry including cell phone techs. Absolutely must have an Associate's degree in Electronics


This is a 6 Month Contract-to-hire position that can go full time at any point within the 6 months.


Position Summary

The Engineering Technician I/II plays a vital role in supporting the R&D Engineering team by performing testing, failure analysis, and continuous improvement efforts on company products. As a key contributor to product remediation and enhancement projects, this role also ensures proper maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Technician I

  • Assist the R&D Sustaining team in product improvements and engineering support activities.
  • Perform and document verification and validation testing for design changes, software updates, and other required evaluations.
  • Conduct testing and implementation of change orders and product updates.
  • Build and maintain test fixtures as required by engineering protocols.
  • Organize and maintain the lab space in accordance with 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Ensure punctual and regular attendance and compliance with company policies.
  • Support additional tasks or projects as assigned.

Engineering Technician II

In addition to the responsibilities of the Technician I role, the Technician II will also:

  • Maintain engineering devices, tools, and components in optimal working condition.
  • Offer design-for-manufacturability feedback during product lifecycle and improvement phases.
  • Manage lab inventory including test devices, subcomponents, fittings, tubing, and tools-ensuring all supplies are labeled and organized per 5S principles.
  • Investigate and analyze field failures, documenting root causes and reporting findings to the engineering team.
  • Write and execute test protocols in compliance with Clients SOPs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

General Skills (for both levels)

  • Strong work ethic with a hands-on, problem-solving mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), planning, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Experience with mechanical/electrical test equipment and fabrication tools.
  • Skilled in soldering (surface mount and through-hole), including under magnification.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 / ISO 13485 quality systems.
  • Knowledge of lean principles and 5S methodology.
  • Background in medical device testing and FDA-regulated environments preferred.

Education & Experience

Engineering Technician I

  • Associate degree in Engineering, a Scientific field, or related technical discipline required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of medical device testing experience required.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Engineering Technician II

  • Associate degree in Engineering, a Scientific field, or related technical discipline required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of medical device testing experience required.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.
