Engineering Technician (Water/Wastewater Projects) - 633084
Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated Engineering Technician to assist in the preparation of design drawings, plans, specifications, supporting documents, and permit applications for various water and wastewater projects. The role will involve using Civil 3D on a regular basis to prepare engineering and design drawings, as well as assisting with the creation of reports, maps, and other related documents to plan and design projects effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of design drawings, specifications, and plans for water and wastewater projects.
- Use Civil 3D and other relevant software to produce detailed engineering and design documents.
- Support the preparation of reports, maps, tests, and aerial photographs to assist in planning and designing projects.
- Assist in the preparation of permit applications and ensure all documentation is complete and accurate.
- Contribute to the development of designs and specifications, with an emphasis on water and wastewater treatment plant projects.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers to ensure projects meet design, safety, and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in civil or environmental engineering, including internships, co-ops, or research experience in water/wastewater projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS is a plus.
- A valid driver's license.
Preferred Experience:
- Exposure to water/wastewater projects through either job experience, internships, or coursework.
- Currently working towards your E.I.T. certification and P.E. designation.
- Less than 4 years of professional experience.
- Previous work in the preparation of designs, specifications, and permitting applications.
