Description: Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas. Assists in the design, construction, test and check-out of test equipment. Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems. Works from schematics, operating or repair manuals, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions. May work with complex machines or computer systems. Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format. Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions. Overall Summary Fully proficient support individual contributor.
Works under limited supervision. May be a resource to other employees in areas of expertise.
Assignments are moderately difficult requiring some judgment. Nature of Supervision Works under limited supervision. Less detailed instructions are provided and minimal peer review is required. Communication & Influence Communicates with contacts typically within and outside the department on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring explanation or interpretation to understand and reach agreement. Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
• Support of Space Vehicle satellite manufacturing
• Individual contributor responsibilities with limited supervision
• Following engineering drawings and defined manufacturing processes.
• Navigating and working to paperless work instructions (MES)
• Lead complex tasks when needed. Contribute to pre task briefings
• Flexibility to work overtime/nights/weekends and alternate shifts
• Cable and harness installation, routing and cable management, cable mate/demate operations
• Mechanical assembly and test of space hardware including ESD sensitive hardware.
• System level hardware integration.
• Rigging/overhead crane and forklift operation,
• Preparation for and conducting system level hardware testing (deployments, environments testing, etc.).
• Performing system level alignments to meet system requirements
• Field support for launch vehicle integration
• Move equipment weighing 45 pounds or less from one place to another.
• Repetitive movements during specified durations.
• Manual dexterity, motor skills and situational awareness to handle and manufacture space hardware. Attachments Name
