Engineering Technician

Overview ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (F-22439): Bowhead seeks a Engineering Technician to join our team in supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane Division. The Engineering Technician performs non-routine and complex assignments involving responsibility for the planning, conducting and completion of projectsof relatively limited scope or a portion of a larger and morediverse projects. Responsibilities Essential functions will include: Constructing components, subunits, or simple models or adapts to standard equipment. May troubleshoot and correct malfunctions following a specific layout and scientific diagrams to contruct and package simple devices and subunits of equipment. Conducting various tests on machines and parts as well as measuring, preparing, operating and recording test data. Creating presentations of data from field notes, manuals, lab reports and ensuring errors are identified and feasible recommendations are presented. Assisting in design modification after failures and modifications are identified and addressed. Provide technician level support for the following Printed Circuit Board (PCB) fabrication and assembly related efforts. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in electronics background preferred. Five years of relevant experience in electronics repair and fabrication can be substituted in lieu of a degree. Five plus (5+) years of DoD experience preferred. Respirator Certification, Explosive Certification preferred. Must be able to obtain J-STD 001 soldering certification within six (6) months of employment. Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:Must be able to maintain a security clearance at the secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
