What You'll get to Do: You will act as the lead lab technician for an engineering and manufacturing rapid prototyping lab to support the development of electrical and mechanical hardware. This position works under guidance and direction toward predetermined goals and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. Work is checked through consultation and agreement with customers and by formal review of supervisor. This position is a highly collaborative effort working as a service to the larger engineering community for prototype builds, working to ensure EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) compliance, and for material/asset tracking, maintenance and accountability. You will provide technical support to engineers related to the generation of prototype and production products in accordance with form, fit and functional checks. You will gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate technical data, such as laboratory or material test results. You will produce 3D printed models and prototype multi-layer boards from provided engineer data files. Roles and Responsibilities: Set up, generate and post process 3D printed parts and assemblies according to data provided by engineering
Provide engineering Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) prototype build support utilizing LPKF Printed Wiring Boards (PWB) and CCA equipment
Provide general engineering support for electromechanical items utilizing general shop equipment (grinders, drill press, hand tools, spray booth, etc.)
Work with internal engineering customers to repair/debug prototype CCAs
Enjoys process of building or prototyping products
System/Sub-system prototype assembly and integration
Lab asset inventory control. Monitor assets moving between labs and updating asset tracking database in conformance with company and regulatory policies
Stocking and ordering of lab consumable items
Work with instrument services and equipment service providers for calibration of lab equipment and assets
Support asset inventory audits with property management and resolve/correct findings and deficiencies
Support EHS audits and resolve/correct findings and deficiencies
Develop/update lab work procedures, safety standards, MSDS books, maintain/update lab training records for staff
Ensure general cleanliness and orderliness of lab May consider this position at a higher grade based on the qualifications below. Basic Qualifications for Engineering Technician 2: High school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of relevant experience.
Must have the ability to use MS office products (Word, Excel, PPTX, etc)
Experience with 3D printers and machine shop equipment and/or knowledge of CCA fabrication
Basic level experience with 3D modeling.
Hands on experience using tools and various equipment, such as: drill presses, CNC, welding, Dremel, cutters, Exacto Knife, band saws
Must be able to work on-site full-time
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
U.S. Citizenship required. Basic Qualifications for Engineering Technician 3: High school diploma or equivalent and at least 4 years of relevant experience.
Must have the ability to use MS office products (Word, Excel, PPTX, etc)
Experience with 3D printers and machine shop equipment and/or knowledge of CCA fabrication
Basic level experience with 3D modeling.
Hands on experience using tools and various equipment, such as: drill presses, CNC, welding, Dremel, cutters, Exacto Knife, band saws
Must be able to work on-site full-time
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
U.S. Citizenship required. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with SLA and FDM
Experience using LPFK CCA prototyping equipment
Advanced experience with mechanical 3D CAD software
Associates degree in field of technology
IPC solder certified
Understanding of simple CNC set-up/programing
Understanding of hazardous waste handling
Ability to use DMM, O-Scope and general electronic equipment
Ability to solder small and fine pitch components in Pb or Pb-free
Active DoD clearance Salary Range: $54,400.00 - $90,600.00Salary Range 2: $64,600.00 - $107,600.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
