Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic provides systems engineering and acquisition to deliver information warfare capabilities to the naval, joint and national warfighter through the acquisition, development, integration, production, test, deployment and sustainment of interoperable command, control, communications, computer, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, cyber and information technology capabilities. The role of the Subject Matter Expert is to provide advanced technical knowledge, and onsite depot-level support services for legacy and other communication equipment as defined by the NIWC (formally SPAWAR) consolidated ISEA. Support services include system technical operation, system configuration, preventative maintenance, overhaul, repair, and assistance with configuration management. Provide shipboard technical support as required. This position reports directly to the onsite lab manager at St. Julien's Creek in Portsmouth VA. ET1
Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Professional Associations):
Mandatory
• Must be a US citizen
• Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance
• Must have a minimum of 2-3 years shipboard installation/integration experience.
• Experience in shipboard cableway work and firewatch
• Experience with assembles or electronic equipment.
• Experience with route wires, cut and solder wires, assemble systems, install various components, track and identify wires, provide inspection on all parts, and measure and adjust the voltage for operational accuracy.
