KMPH/KFRE has a great opportunity for you. We are seeking a full-time Engineering Supervisor. This person must ensure the overall technical and operational success of the station's programming along with supervising the Master Control team. Additionally, would be involved in supporting and maintaining all phases of a modern content facility. This role must possess people skills and technical competence to be successful. Responsibilities include:
- Supervise Master Control Operators.
- Ensure the overall technical and operational success of the station's programming.
- Work with the News, Traffic, Programming, and Sales departments to resolve any issues that might affect Master Control Operations.
- Scheduling Master Control Operator shifts to ensure coverage and provide vacation relief.
- Verify that all content is available and ready to air, maintain required logs, and uphold station standards and FCC compliance by monitoring the station's technical performance.
- Responsible for the technical competence of the Master Control Operators and will be expected to facilitate ongoing training to maintain high standards.
- Assist in implementing, installing & maintaining engineering systems and provide end-user support across all departments.
- Provide transmitter support as needed, at times traveling in the snow in the high country.
- Replace or adjust defective and/or improperly functioning equipment.
- Work with engineering management and other engineers on technical issues as needed.
- Perform all technical work to engineering standards and practices.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Experience in television master control operations including air switching live programs.
- Must have experience with computer automation systems, television satellite systems, VTRs, server based ingest and playback systems, Microsoft office products, and file based ingest and playback servers.
- Dependable and detail oriented.
- Communicate effectively and work well with others.
- Be able to follow instructions with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of computers and an aptitude for operating electronic equipment.
- This position requires 24 hour on-call status and various operating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- 1-2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
- 1-2 years of broadcast engineering experience preferred.
- Valid & unencumbered driver's license.
- Work experience, education, and/or formal training/certification in one or more of an engineering-related fields (e.g., technology; information systems; computer science; electrical engineering and/or electronics).
- Ability to lift 40-50 lbs.
The base salary compensation range for this role is $66,560.00 to $68,560.00. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, quarterly and annual incentive plan bonuses, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, 15 paid vacation days, 2 paid personal days, 9 paid holidays, 40 hours of paid sick leave, parental leave, and employee stock purchase plan.
