Job Summary
As an Engineering Specialist, you will provide production support.
Job Description
We are looking for an Engineering Specialist provide production support. This position will be a 6 month contract and on-site in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.
What You'll Do
Develops product families or undertakes small and medium size projects
Manages technical elements while maintaining performance and schedule
Primarily act as core team member, as well as team leader when needed
Strong impact in LEANPD driven new product development projects
Drives for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods
Strives to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control
Acts as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface.
Supports Product Development in the optimization designs and piece parts for manufacturability; realizes sample tooling, product samples and prototypes.
Designs, develops, and qualifies tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards.
Documents all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems (SAP, TLM).
Supports supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability.
Initiates and implements programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time.
Maintains and adheres to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.
Influence in present role for multiple projects.
Contributes to multiple project level technology and product decisions.
Contributes to technical function initiatives across multiple projects.
What You'll Need
Required:
Thorough knowledge of technical tools specific to the job function including CAD, CAE, industrial and/or quality engineering tools.
Thorough knowledge of general engineering tools (LEAN or 6-sigma) such as DoE, FMEA, QFD, etc.
Deep technical knowledge of the product domain the engineer is working in.
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
