The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and managing the engineering function with a strong focus on automation, final assembly, process improvement, and safety. This role drives innovation, efficiency, and reliability through advanced technology, cost reduction initiatives, and waste elimination. The Engineering Manager oversees capital projects, supports maintenance, and leads a high-performing engineering team to meet current and future operational needs.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage engineering projects from concept through implementation, ensuring alignment with production and business objectives.
  • Write and justify capital expenditure (CAPEX) requests, including detailed ROI analysis and technical specifications.
  • Plan and execute factory acceptance tests (FAT) for new equipment to validate functionality and performance before deployment.
  • Oversee the implementation, commissioning, and optimization of automation and final assembly systems.
  • Drive continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and eliminate waste.
  • Provide direct engineering support for troubleshooting production equipment, collaborating closely with maintenance and operations teams to resolve technical issues and restore performance.
  • Partner with maintenance and operations to increase equipment uptime, reliability, and long-term performance.
  • Manage and develop the engineering team, providing leadership, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and proactively introduce solutions that improve productivity, safety, and competitiveness.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to address technical challenges and execute improvement projects.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and internal EHS policies in all engineering activities.
  • Collaborate with procurement, vendors, and contractors to deliver cost-effective and technically sound solutions.
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation, standards, and best practices.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs such as project timelines, cost savings, equipment efficiency, and process improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • 7+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing setting, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong experience with automation systems, robotics, PLC/HMI programming, and final assembly processes.
  • Proven track record of writing and managing capital projects, including justifications and execution.
  • Hands-on experience conducting FATs and integrating new equipment into production environments.
  • Deep understanding of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated success in cost and waste reduction through process innovation and optimization.
  • Proficient in modern engineering tools and technologies, with a forward-thinking mindset toward Industry 4.0.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards in manufacturing environments.

Work Environment:

  • Dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing facility with both office and production floor responsibilities.
  • Occasional travel required for equipment validation, training, or vendor site visits
