Job Title: Engineering Manager - PEMB Systems & Structural Steel Construction

Job Summary:
The Engineering Manager will lead a team of engineers in the design, development, and execution of projects involving Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) systems and structural steel construction. This role requires hands-on technical expertise, managerial skills, and a deep understanding of industry standards to ensure innovative, efficient, and safe project delivery. The Engineering Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, oversee design processes, and drive continuous improvement in engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage and mentor a team of engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering professional growth.
  • Oversee the design, analysis, and detailing of PEMB systems and structural steel components.
  • Ensure all engineering designs comply with applicable codes, standards (e.g., AISC, MBMA), and client specifications.
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications for accuracy and constructability.
  • Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and fabrication teams to align engineering efforts with project timelines and budgets.
  • Resolve complex technical challenges related to structural steel construction or PEMB system integration.
  • Drive process improvements in design workflows, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, and contractors to address design requirements and project scope.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and construction techniques.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in engineering, with at least 2 of those years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Proven expertise in Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) systems or structural steel construction.
  • Proficiency in MBS (Metal Building Software) or Tekla is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of structural analysis, load calculations, and steel connection design.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
