Job Description: Oversee the development and implementation of manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency. Manage work schedules and budgets related to the design, integration, and maintenance of manufactured products and systems. Provide process engineering support to all production cells. Plan and formulate aspects of engineering improvement projects including equipment purchase, layout, and flow. Ensure the timely completion of projects and initiatives while helping achieve short- and long-term business objectives. Ensure support of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SQDC) and support of Rapid Improvement Events. Manage the processing of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) for new and improved products. Manage the manufacturing launch of new high volume and complex products. Manage large capital projects, including writing capital requests and the installation of new equipment. Drive Manufacturing Engineers as a team toward facility and departmental goals. Effectively mitigate risks to department targets, timelines, and goals. Work with cross functional teams to develop advanced level solutions for cross functional problems. Develop strategic direction and translate into goal setting for department. Manage performance reviews and provide feedback to team of direct reports. Manage time and attendance of direct reports to ensure correct resourcing needs. Manage the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standard Work for assigned operations. Lead in the resolution of quality issues including field complaints, warranty issues, and defective parts. Work with Procurement to conduct make/buy analysis for all new parts. Ensure proper cost estimates for Accounting. Provide guidance to engineers, technicians, and other professionals. Provide guidance to leaders of large, complicated projects. Recommend budgets to management, including staff use, technology, facility, and equipment requirements or improvements. Facilitate contracts with consulting firms to perform research or other applicable studies or support. Manage a group of Manufacturing Engineers, Packaging Engineers, Manufacturing Engineering Technicians, and Manufacturing Engineering Analysts. Identify the correct Operational Excellence (OpEx) methodology to improve manufacturing or business processes. Work with Finance to determine financial benefits of projects, establish tracking mechanisms, and be able to address issues. Establish correlations between projects and initiatives involving more than one department/function and support Change Management in cross functional projects. Give presentations to employees at all levels of the organization. Coach department on the use of LEAN tools. Mentor department on career development. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field required. Must have 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, including any experience with elevator design codes and standards and any experience with the design engineering of elevator systems, inverters, and controllers. Must have one year of experience leading a team. Must have legal authority to work in the U.S. EEOE.
