Telent's Network Services division is seeking a Cloud Engineer to join our successful Engineering team based in Southampton. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a talented team of Cloud, Network, and Security specialists, supporting your growth and development as a Cloud Engineer with exposure to challenging projects.
The Cloud Engineer will build and enhance relationships with internal and external customers, providing proactive service and acting as a bridge between the engineering team and Service Delivery, Projects, and Service Desk to ensure high customer satisfaction.

Cloud Engineer - What you'll do:
- Train internal engineering staff and customers on products and solutions.
- Assist with Professional Services and Sales opportunities within Network Services.
- Maintain awareness of all customer incidents and report as necessary.
- Highlight trends, security threats, or technical bulletins impacting customers.
- Manage documentation and technical information related to customer platforms and Telent Cloud Services.
- Adhere to internal and external processes regarding task allocation, completion, reporting, and change management.
- Assist with Proof of Concept scenarios, Type Approval activities, and lab testing.
- Create TA, POC, RFC, WI, and SoW documentation.
- Perform peer reviews of engineering documentation.
- Lead in pre-staging equipment for customer site installations.
- Attend customer meetings such as support reviews, project roadmaps, and incident reviews.
- Ensure accurate and timely timesheet submissions.
- Link certifications or training to business objectives and role requirements.
- Complete and submit overtime and expenses accurately.
- Follow GDPR policies and handle security incidents as per policies.
Who you are:
The successful Cloud Engineer will have an interest in Cloud technologies, including some Azure knowledge, Linux, MS SCCM, and MS Exchange, with support for developing these skills. You should have a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and experience working in a medium to large support environment, with on-premise Cloud Services experience.
Key requirements:
- VCP 6.x-DCV (Desirable)
- MCSA: Microsoft Windows Server 2016 or above
- Linux: LPIC-2 (Desirable)
- Networking Concepts knowledge
- Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or above, especially clustering and availability groups
- Azure MFA and Identity Services
- Microsoft System Configuration Manager
- Microsoft Exchange Server 2016 and above
- VMware vCloud Director knowledge
