About the Role:This position is responsible for design and development of systems for manufacturing operations. You will collaborate with departmental and the leadership team to determine existing automation capabilities and future opportunities, creating detailed project road maps for automation projects that support our business objectives Additionally, a Control Engineer can be responsible for increasing production efficiency by evaluating performance and proposing and implementing improvements. The position requires strong problem-solving and verbal and written communication skills.
Your Responsibilities:- Electrical
- Interprets Electrical wiring diagrams; Updates electrical wiring diagrams in AutoCAD/SolidWorks
- Develops electrical design, schematics, and drawings in AutoCAD
- Interprets mechanical design drawings for electrical requirements (e.g., SolidWorks)
- Research supplier products for assembly components
- Follows established standards for drawings and component selections
- Helps establish new and maintain existing standards
- Interprets/develops electrical bill of materials
- Uses hand tools and multi-meter to safely work in an electrical panel
- Powers up electrical systems and configure hardware per application specifications
- Checks quality of assemblers and technicians work and responds to inquiries during assembly
- Works with Sales Engineers to provide input with quote preparation as required
- Checks quality of work and responds to inquiries during project implementation
- Understanding of basic electrical principals such as Ohm's Law and Watt's Law
- Software
- Designs, develops, programs PLC code for given requirements and specifications
- Understands internal customer requirements for GUI/communication interface, networking and creates specifications based on these requirements
- Reviews, repairs, and redesigns legacy code
- Troubleshoots issues with existing company installed systems
- Writes user manuals to communicate functionality of company developed programs
- Basic PC networking understanding
- Understanding of Boolean Logic
- Interprets PLC Ladder Logic
- Troubleshoots issues with existing company installed systems

Let's Talk About Your Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree
- College Major Desired: Controls/Electrical, or related discipline
- 5+ years of experience in the automation industry
- Proficient in Design/Drafting Tools AutoCAD and SolidWorks
- Programming Logic Controllers (PLC) (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens)
- Configuring and designing HMI/OIT systems (e.g., Allen Bradley, National Instruments, Maple Systems)
- Experience and skill in troubleshooting control system issues
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Must be a self-starter, team player, work well with others and have a positive attitude
- Must be a creative thinker, results-oriented, focused, and attentive to detail and accuracy
- Must have ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines

- Must be organized, detail-oriented and able to think designs through completely
- Preferred:
- Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma training is a plus
- MS Office 2010 (Excel, Word, Outlook) and general computer literacy
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks
- Familiar with Industry Standards UL and CE
- Familiar with Vision Systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence)
- Familiar with various Motion Controllers/Actuators (e.g., IAI, Yasakawa)
- Familiar with Industrial robotic applications
