BHE GT&S JOB DESCRIPTIONBHE GT&S has an exciting opportunity as a Mechanical Engineer I, Engineer II, Sr Engineer or Sr Engineer II at our White Oaks location in Bridgeport, WV.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Maintain equipment specifications to keep them current with new technology.
- Subject matter expert/primary POC for ASME/BPVC.
- Manage and maintain engineering training program.
- Provide mechanical equipment troubleshooting support.
- Develop maintenance plans for certain equipment (heaters mainly).
- Evaluate facilities against present day operations to ensure design is adequate.
- Revamp task and step manuals.
- Support mechanical design for growth projects.
- Bolting and Torquing SME.
- Mechanical SME for facility audits.
- Metallurgical support.
- SME for destructive testing and laboratory testing.
- Mechanical design/equipment sizing support for EGTS/CGT.
- Maintain AML and evaluate new manufacturers.
- Maintain gas loss maps.
QUALIFICATIONS Engineer I - Basic knowledge of engineering concepts, fundamentals and theory.
- Oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing).
- Effective decision making skills.
- Computer skills and application of software programs.
- Analytical and abstract thinking skills.
- Problem solving skills.
- Ability to learn to apply engineering theories and concepts to complex problems.

Engineer II - 1-3 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Knowledge and application of engineering theories and principles, concepts, and fundamentals.
- Requires developmental experience in a professional engineering position.
- Competency in applying engineering principles, fundamental concepts, practices and procedures requiring some evaluation, originality and/or ingenuity to achieve project objectives.
- Understands and can apply knowledge of configuration management.
- Ability to perform engineering calculations using applicable software programs (e.g. Matlab, Excel, etc.).
- Planning, organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to develop and exercise leadership skills.
- Effective decision making skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing).
- Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems.
- Ability to interpret codes, regulations and practices.
- Equally effective working independently or in a team environment.
- Ability to process information quickly and effectively manage multiple tasks.
Sr Engineer - 5 years of relevant engineering experience. PE license preferred.
- Full knowledge of engineering theories and principles.
- Skilled in use of advanced techniques and modification and extension of theories, precepts and practices of the field and related sciences and disciplines.
- Strong leadership skills with proven ability to serve as team project lead.
- Provide guidance to less experienced engineers.
- Strong oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing).
- Strong personal computer skills.
- Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems.
- Ability to interpret codes, regulations and practices.
- In depth knowledge of various computer applications, with the ability to manipulate personal computer applications and perform engineering calculations using applicable software programs (e.g. Matlab, Excel, etc.).
- Equally effective working independently or in team environment.
- Proven decision-making skills.
- Ability to process information quickly and effectively manage multiple tasks.
- Strong planning, organizational and project management skills.
Sr Engineer II - Eight or more years of experience as a practicing engineer in related engineering applications or other related industry experience.
- Requires PE. If no PE license, must have 10 years as a practicing engineer.
- Must have significant engineering knowledge of natural gas industry related to the design and installation of pipelines, compressor stations and process equipment. Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Strong technical writing skills including the ability to communicate a basic understanding of technical information to non-technical people.
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Project management skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
- Cross functional skills; ability and willingness to cross over to construction coordination or project management work on specific projects.
- Critical thinking and decision making skills to develop and present technical recommendations.
- Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without an accommodation.
Education Bachelor's degree
Required Degree Engineering degree required, from an accredited college or university.
