Endpoint and Security Summer Internship

Overview This part-time summer internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in desktop support, PC configuration and deployment, and some entry level security tasks. The primary focus of this role will be to assist with the configuration and deployment of PCs, as well as providing support for service desk tickets. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities PC Configuration and Deployment:

- Assist in the setup, configuration, and deployment of desktop and laptop computers. - Install and configure operating systems, software applications, and hardware components. - Ensure all devices meet company standards and security policies before deployment. - Perform routine maintenance and updates on deployed systems.

Security Tasks:

- Learn and understand basic security principles and practices. - Assist in monitoring and responding to security incidents. - Participate in security awareness training sessions. - Help with the implementation of security policies and procedures. - Support the team in maintaining security documentation.

End user support:

- Respond to and resolve service desk tickets related to desktop support, including hardware and software issues. - Provide technical assistance to end-users, both remotely and in-person. - Document and track all service desk interactions and resolutions in the ticketing system. - Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff as needed.

General IT Support:

- Assist with inventory management of IT equipment and supplies. - Participate in team meetings and contribute to ongoing IT projects. - Maintain accurate records of all IT assets and configurations. - Support the IT team with various administrative tasks as required.

Qualifications - Currently pursuing or completed a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. - Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications. - Familiarity with Windows and Mac operating systems. - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
