IT Support Technician Job Description
Job Overview
The IT Support Technician provides essential technical support to users at the Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania location. This role may also extend support to users and offer remote assistance to offices in across the state. The primary purpose is to support, maintain, and configure staff desktop PCs, laptops, VMWare virtual servers, client applications, printers, and other end-user devices.
Key Responsibilities of an IT Support Technician
  • Install, configure, and support desktop PCs, thin clients, and laptops with client operating systems, network configurations, host security, remote access, line of business applications, and office productivity software.
  • Utilize system event logs to administer, troubleshoot, and resolve host client issues; use client and server tools to patch operating systems and software applications; install, uninstall, and upgrade system hardware and software.
  • Configure and support user access to SharePoint Online and OneDrive resources.
  • Configure and troubleshoot local and network multi-function printers, copiers, and scanning devices.
  • Support, maintain, and configure physical and virtual servers for file or print sharing and application hosting.
  • Administer client-server virtual machine images by duplicating images, creating image templates, and making virtual machines available for end users' access.
  • Coordinate hardware repair activities with vendors and IT staff; diagnose hardware and software problems with vendor phone support.
  • Utilize tools such as Systems Center Configuration Manager for client systems management, application deployment, virtual application deployment, asset management, and remote client assistance; use tools for remote end-user support.
  • Configure and support client wireless connections on laptops, iPads, iPhones, Air Cards, and other smartphone devices.
IT Support Technician Requirements
  • Associate's degree in any IT field.
  • Two years of technical experience in end-user support and server/peripheral support.
  • Excellent communication skills
Salary Expectations The salary range for this position between 60-80k.
