Our Enablement Centre also aims to reduce hospital admission and readmission, reduce unpaid carer stress and enable service users to lead a safe, enriched life.
Role Summary:
We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and compassionate Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Enablement Centre in Maddiston. The successful candidate will manage a team of staff, coordinate care and activities for service users, manage referrals and ensure a high standard of service is maintained in line with regulatory and organisational standards.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Enablement Centre, ensuring it runs efficiently and effectively.
- Ensure policies, procedures, and guidelines are followed to ensure the safety, well-being, and dignity of all clients.
- Manage the day-to-day administration, including managing budgets, supplies, and resources for the Centre.
- Coordinate the intake process for new service users, ensuring all relevant assessments and paperwork are completed.
- Ensure that care plans are developed, regularly reviewed, and updated for each service user.
2. Staff Management:
- Lead, supervise, and support the day centre team
- Ensure all staff are properly trained, including mandatory training in areas such as safeguarding and dementia care.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and identify opportunities for staff development and training.
- Foster a positive and supportive work environment and ensure high morale among staff.
3. Service User Care:
- Ensure the provision of high-quality, person-centred care for all service users, tailored to their specific needs and preferences.
- Promote and ensure social interaction, physical activity, and mental stimulation through a variety of activities and events.
- Liaise with healthcare professionals, families, and other stakeholders to ensure holistic care for service users
- Address and resolve any concerns or complaints in a professional and timely manner.
4. Financial Management:
- Monitor and manage the centre s budget, ensuring the efficient use of resources and cost-effective delivery of services.
- Assist with fundraising and generating additional income streams to support the activities and operations of the centre.
- Keep accurate records of income, expenditure, and any financial transactions related to the day centre.
5. Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure the centre meets all regulatory requirements as set by relevant authorities (e.g., Care Inspectorate, local authorities).
- Keep up-to-date with changes in legislation, policies, and best practices.
- Prepare and submit reports to senior management, or external bodies as required including annual care reviews, risk assessments, and health & safety audits.
6. Community Engagement:
- Build relationships with local organisations, community groups, and other stakeholders to enhance the service provided and foster a sense of community.
- Promote the Enablement centre within the local community to increase awareness and attract new service users
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
- Previous experience managing or coordinating a care facility, day centre, or similar healthcare service.
- Relevant qualifications in health and social care (e.g., SVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent; or willing to work towards).
- Understanding of relevant legislation and regulations (e.g., Care Inspectorate standards, Health and Social Care standards).
- Strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Experience in financial management, budgeting, and reporting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to providing high-quality care.
- A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine passion for supporting individuals.
- An understanding of dementia and other common conditions affecting elderly people would be beneficial.
- Experience in developing and implementing care plans.
