Job Title: Employment Litigation Of Counsel

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm in Irvine, CA, is seeking an experienced employment litigator to join its team in a senior-level capacity. This role is ideal for a legal professional with a proven record of managing complex employment disputes, offering strategic guidance to corporate clients, and mentoring junior legal staff. The ideal candidate will have extensive first-chair experience in employment litigation and a strong command of relevant federal and California employment law.

Duties:

  • Handle a variety of employment-related lawsuits, including discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wage-and-hour violations, and contract disputes

  • Represent employers before administrative agencies, in arbitration, mediation, and court proceedings

  • Provide strategic legal guidance and preventative counseling to corporate clients on employment law compliance

  • Lead and manage litigation matters from start to finish, serving as first chair on key cases

  • Supervise the work of associates and legal support staff, ensuring high standards of execution

  • Conduct internal investigations and training sessions for clients on workplace policies and risk mitigation

  • Manage class actions and PAGA claims; experience in these areas is highly desirable

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 9 years of employment litigation experience, with demonstrated first-chair trial capabilities

  • Admission to the California Bar, active and in good standing

  • Strong familiarity with California and federal employment statutes and administrative procedures

  • Experience supervising legal teams or mentoring junior attorneys

  • Proven ability to manage multiple high-stakes matters simultaneously

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in California

Skills:

  • Exceptional legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills

  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

  • Ability to build client relationships and deliver strategic, business-focused solutions

  • Adept at handling complex litigation in fast-paced environments

  • Capable of providing thoughtful and constructive feedback to team members

  • Highly organized with strong project management capabilities
