We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable attorney to join our employment law plaintiff firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in employment law, excellent advocacy skills, and a passion for representing clients in legal matters relating to workplace rights and discrimination.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Client Representation
  • Represent clients in employment-related disputes, including but not limited to wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour claims, and whistleblower cases.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  1. Case Management
  • Manage a caseload from inception to resolution, ensuring timely progression and compliance with legal deadlines.
  • Develop case strategies in collaboration with clients, gathering evidence, and interviewing witnesses.
  1. Negotiation and Settlement
  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients, striving for favorable outcomes while maintaining clear communication about potential risks and benefits.
  • Prepare clients for mediation and settlement conferences, providing guidance on expectations and processes.
  1. Litigation
  • Prepare for trial by drafting trial briefs, jury instructions, and exhibits.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, presenting compelling arguments and witness testimonies.
  1. Client Consultation
  • Conduct initial consultations with potential clients, assessing their cases and providing legal advice on possible courses of action.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates on case status and addressing any concerns.
  1. Community Engagement
  • Participate in community outreach and education initiatives to raise awareness of employment rights and workplace issues.
  • Stay updated on changes in employment law and contribute to the firm's knowledge base.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in CA and in good standing.
  • Minimum of 3-5 Years experience in employment law, with a focus on plaintiff representation preferred.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state employment laws, including the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).

Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to develop effective legal strategies.
  • Proven negotiation skills and the ability to advocate strongly for clients in both settlement and trial settings.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
