The Employer Management Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring proper registration and compliance with tax agencies and employment regulations. This includes handling employment inquiries related to unemployment benefits, workers' compensation, and leaves of absence. They also provide guidance to staff, act as a subject matter expert, and serve as the primary point of escalation for team members.

Essential Duties:

  • Operations
    • Establish and manage Consumer tax accounts
    • Oversee staff and workload to ensure accuracy and timeliness
    • Develop, measure, and report meaningful key metrics
    • Establish group targets and strategy for achieving targets
    • Identify, design, and implement process improvements
    • Use technology to reduce manual effort and resulting rework
    • Support other department functions as necessary
  • Staff
    • Train and develop team through challenging assignments
    • Cross-train and build redundant capabilities within team
    • Supervise daily activities to ensure group and individual productivity
    • Create yearly performance reviews with periodic feedback

  • Communication
    • Maintain contacts and communications with Federal and State tax agencies
    • Lead department meetings
    • Liaise with other departments as necessary
    • Serve as point of escalation for external contacts
  • Other
    • Support overall mission and objectives of Tempus Unlimited
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the FI Payroll Manager

Education: Bachelor's degree preferred

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
