As an Employee Communications and Engagement Lead for the U.S. Business Unit (USBU) and the U.S. region, this person will help bring Takeda's pan-U.S./USBU story to life for employees. They will leverage the U.S. and Global Corporate Communications (USGCC) strategic plan to prioritize internal communications projects and ensure we focus on efforts that provide the strongest impact for patients.


We are seeking a strong writer who can put innovative ideas into writing, presentations and events. This person should be comfortable as a project manager to bring individuals from across the organization together to collaborate on planning events, meetings and to problem solve. They will serve as one of the subject matter experts and hands-on support for many of our internal communications channels, with support from the broader Communications team, other cross-functional subject matter experts and outside vendors, as needed.


Leveraging a strong technical acumen and interest/capabilities in utilizing AI and other technology, analytics and metrics, this person will regularly use existing communications tools, such as Politemail, Smartsheet, webcast/Teams and communications dashboards to both support communications efforts and measure the impact of those efforts. We seek someone who will become proficient with the communications operations technologies currently used today and those that will be adopted in the future, while also researching and making recommendations for future technologies to streamline our internal and employee engagement communications. This person may also help train the extended team on these technologies and tools.


Accountabilities

  • Own, manage and publish the USBU newsletter. Build and nurture relationships to make the process of gathering newsletter content easy.

  • Lead and/or support USBU, pan-Massachusetts and pan-U.S. employee engagement activities and events including Kendall Community Days, Town Halls, etc. This includes creating content, coordinating activities, creating and issuing communications, acting as liaison with stakeholders and vendors, providing on-site support at the event, conducting post-event surveys or other activities, as needed/required.

  • Lead and/or support the USBU President's employee engagement program by working closely with the Office of the President to schedule regular sessions, create and issue communications, maintain sharepoint page, analyze metrics and collect feedback from employees, as needed.

  • Establish and/or continue USGCC internal communications best practices and standards. Research and pilot new, creative communications and engagement tools and events. Be a key contributor in amplifying Takeda's content and culture through our internal communications channels.

  • Partner closely with others including, but not limited to, other parts of Global Corporate Affairs, USBU, U.S. Corporate Social Responsibility & Philanthropy and U.S. DE&I, to support, craft or drive internal communications and/or programs that align with our core values.

  • Support our intranet by adding and editing content to keep pertinent sites fresh and accurate.

  • Create graphics for use in emails, PowerPoint, digital screens, etc. to support communications activities.

  • Actively understand and support email distribution lists and educate team members on how best to use.

  • Partner with Conferencing Technology Support Services (CTSS)/IT to produce and execute events. Measure the success of events and continue to evaluate success and innovate/change as needed.

  • Actively track metrics for internal communications efforts and provide regularly for internal reports.Illustrate the story that the data tells and include that with the metrics/Common KPIs.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing or a related field.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in communications, event planning, executing corporate and/or product communications plans.

  • Exceptionally high degree of integrity, professionalism and ethical standards.


This is a hybrid position requiring working onsite in Cambridge, MA 2 days each week/8 days each month at minimum.

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$137,000.00 - $215,270.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.


U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S.based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
