Key Responsibilities
As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:
Provide friendly, quality care to clients and patients
Discharge patients from the clinic
Fill prescriptions and draw blood
Obtain vitals and assist in inducing and maintaining sedation or anesthesia
Place and maintain IV catheters
Administer medications
Assist with surgical procedures and emergency services (CPR, catheterization, intubation, drug administration)
Recognize and report pain, distress, or other patient concerns
Compensation and Benefits
Salary: $23 - $25 per hour (commensurate with experience)
Overnight Shifts
Sign-on bonus up to $2,500
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years as a Veterinary Technician/Nurse (CVT or RVT strongly preferred)
Associate's Degree or higher
Prior experience in Emergency and/or Urgent Care preferred
Skills
Effective communication with clients and staff
Ability to safely lift objects or pets of at least 50lbs
Work with or without direct supervision
Restrain and control cats and dogs of any temperament
Recognize concerning behaviors in pets
Make conversions and calculations
Adapt to different needs and preferences of doctors
Strong organizational skills
Knowledge of hospital procedures and operating instructions
