A services organization in California is looking to add a compassionate and hardworking Emergency Medicine Technician (EMT) to its Workplace Health & Safety team in San Bernardino County. As a vital resource for the site's employees, the Emergency Medicine Technician (EMT) will be responsible for providing first aid, health guidance, and safety education.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Nights
- Schedule: 5 shifts per week
- Hours: 6pm to 4:30am
- Setting: Occupational Health
Responsibilities:
- Deliver first aid care and refer employees to external medical providers as needed
- Support workers' compensation and return-to-work programs
- Maintain accurate records of care and submit end-of-shift reports
- Provide coaching on at-risk work behaviors and ergonomic practices
- Attend safety committee and case management meetings
- Conduct random saliva drug testing
- Maintain medical supply inventory and a clean treatment area
- Participate in CPR, First Aid, and AED certification training sessions
- Respond to on-site emergencies and provide critical care
- Flexibility to work holidays and weekends as required
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved ECC provider
One of the following:
- Valid EMT or Paramedic Certification (State or NREMT)
- Minimum 6 months of recent U.S. military medical experience (eg, Combat Medic, Corpsman)
- Active Athletic Trainer Certification (BOC or state equivalent)
- Willingness to obtain adult First Aid/CPR/AED certification from AHA or ARC within 3 weeks of start date
Desired Skills:
- Certified instructor in First Aid/CPR/AED (AHA or ARC)
- Experience in industrial wellness or occupational health settings
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and Workers' Compensation procedures
- Experience managing musculoskeletal disorders and coaching on body mechanics
- Skilled in digital recordkeeping systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
