Day & Night Shifts Full Travel & Lodging EPIC EMR

A busy community hospital in Springfield, Massachusetts is seeking Emergency Medicine physicians for locum tenens coverage starting as soon as credentialed (currently shifts open for July and future dates TBD). This high-volume ED offers competitive compensation at $310/hr, full malpractice coverage, and complimentary travel and lodging. Providers with a valid Massachusetts license and availability for day or night shifts are encouraged to apply.

• Location: Springfield, MA

• Start Date/End Date: ASAP till estimated end of 2025

• Shift Options: Days & Nights (Priority on nights in June, days/nights ongoing in July)

• Schedule: 8 12 shifts/month ongoing

• Pay Rate: $310/hr

• Travel & Lodging: Full reimbursement, hotel + economy travel

• Malpractice: Comprehensive coverage included

• Credentialing Timeframe: 4 weeks (onboarding required)

• Facility Type: 44-bed community hospital

• Annual ED Volume: 55,000 visits

• Trauma Level: None (community hospital)

• Admissions from ED: 15%

• Transfers per day: 1 2 patients

• Fast Track Area: Yes (handles 40% of ED volume)

• Supervision Required: Yes APP supervision

• Admission Orders: Written by Hospitalists

• Response Team: ED responds to house codes (airway lead)

• Referral Facility: Saint Francis Hospital ( min transfer time)

• In-House Services:

  • 24/7 Radiology (CT, MRI, X-ray)

  • 24/7 OR, Lab, Anesthesia

  • Blood Bank (AABB Certified)

• Specialist Backup:
  Radiology, Critical Care, Cardiology, Pulmonology, GI, Neurology, Urology, Hem/Onc, Psychiatry

• Procedures & Interpretation:

  • EM docs interpret EKGs

  • ED physicians perform required clinical procedures

• Board Certification: ABEM or AOBEM

• Board Eligible: Accepted if completed 5 years of EM residency

• MA License

• Availability: Indicate interest in day, night, or both shifts
