Emergency Medicine Physician

Position Overview
HPA Healthcare is seeking an experienced ABEM-certified Emergency Medicine Physician (or FM/IM physician with ED experience and required certifications) to provide locum tenens coverage at a recently renovated emergency department in eastern North Carolina. With both day and night 12-hour shifts available, this assignment is ideal for providers seeking flexible coverage opportunities in a rural, team-based setting. Preference is given to clinicians who can commit to 6-12 shifts per month . Assignment Highlights
•   Orientation: Required the day before first scheduled shift

•   Day (7:30 AM - 7:30 PM):
•   Night (7:30 PM - 7:30 AM): A
•   Shift Expectation: 6-12 shifts per month preferred
•   EMR: Epic
•   Travel & Lodging: Prepaid and arranged by HPA Healthcare
•   Malpractice Coverage: Provided by HPA Healthcare
•   Joint Commission-certified agency - HPA Healthcare Facility & Clinical Details
•   Hospital Beds: 81
•   Emergency Department Beds: 15 (recently renovated)
•   Annual ED Volume: 27,000 visits
•   Average ED Patients/Day: 80
•   Average Admissions/Day: 11
•   Fast Track Unit: Minor Emergency section open 12 hours/day
•   Total Inpatient Census: 47 acute care beds
•   Designation: Primary Stroke Center Skills & Experience
•   Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM), or
•   Board Certified in FM or IM with current ED experience and the following certifications:
•   ACLS
•   ATLS
•   PALS
•   Ability to work independently in a community ED
•   Familiarity with Epic EMR preferred
•   Strong clinical judgment and adaptability
