Department of Emergency Medicine The University of Iowa
The University of Iowa Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking faculty for a position in Emergency Medicine. Appointment rank may be at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level and to either the tenure track, research track or clinical (non-tenure) track consistent with clinical experience and research interest.
The primary practice site (academic-based vs. community-based) will be determined by multiple factors to include department and applicant considerations, applicant s qualifications and experience and needs of the overall health care system.
Opportunities exist for involvement in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, EMS, Ultrasound, Research, Toxicology, Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Critical Care, Sports Medicine, Global Medicine, Social Medicine, plus many more.
Education Requirement:
- Applicants must have an MD/DO or equivalent.
- Position requires completion of an ACGME-accredited training program.
Required Qualifications:
- Applicants must be board eligible, or board certified in Emergency Medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine at the time of hire.
- The selected candidate for the position must be eligible to obtain or already hold an active Iowa medical license.
Desirable qualifications:
Formal fellowship training to include any of the following:
Pediatric Emergency Medicine, EMS, Ultrasound, Research, Toxicology, Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Critical Care, Sports Medicine, Global Medicine, and Social Medicine plus other pertinent programs.
