Coverage Needed:
- June 2025 - ongoing
- Schedule: 7A-7P days, 7P-7A nights, 10A-10P, 7A-5P, 5P-3A
Clinical Details:
- Practice Setting: Emergency Department (ED)
- Percentage of Total Hospital Admissions Received from ED: 15%
- Percentage of ED Patients Admitted to the Hospital Per Day: 15%
- Percentage of ED Patients Transferred Per Day: Minimal, maybe 1-2 patients per day
- Total Number of Beds: 44 beds
- Number of ED Physicians in Group: 2 physicians always present on each shift, 11 physicians in group
- Fast Track in ED: staffed by APP
- Percent of Total ED Volume Treated by Fast Track: 40%
- Documentation System/EMR: Epic
- ED Staff Responds to House Codes: secondary to ED emergencies, ED manages airway on response team
- On Call Physicians Response Time: 30 minutes or less
- Deliveries: Sent directly to Labor & Delivery
- ED Responsible for Monitoring/Supervising Paramedics/Ambulance by Radio
- APP Working Autonomously
- Supervising Physician Present During Assignment
- 24-Hour Availability for Radiology (CT, MRI, X-Ray), Lab, OR, Anesthesia
- Services: Blood Bank (Certified by AABB), Pathology (Clinical and Anatomical), Surgical Services (CT, Neuro, Vascular, Ortho), EKG Interpretations (EM doctors)
- Consultants: Radiologist, Critical Care Intensivist, Cardiologist, Pulmonologist, Gastroenterologist, Neurologist, Urologist, Hematologist/Oncologist, Psychiatrist
Requirements:
- Board Certified Physician Assistants only (no new graduates)
- Active MA License
- ACLS/BLS Certification
