Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant

Position Overview
HPA Healthcare is seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide locum tenens coverage at a community-based hospital in eastern North Carolina. This is a low-admission, moderate-volume ED with a renovated department and newly added fast-track section. Multiple 12-hour shifts are available in August. Candidates must be comfortable managing a wide range of presentations in a rural emergency setting and should be credentialed to work independently with physician back-up.

•   Average ED Patients/Day: 63
•   Fast Track: Newly opened 12-hour minor emergency section
•   Average Admissions/Day: 11
•   Total Inpatient Census: 47 acute, 24 behavioral health
•   Designation: Nationally designated Primary Stroke Center Skills & Experience
•   Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Medicine experience preferred
•   Comfortable managing high-acuity and low-acuity cases independently
•   Proficient with Epic EMR
•   Able to integrate quickly into a rural team-based care environment
•   Strong communication and critical thinking skills
