Locums - Chattanooga, Tennessee, NP/PA Emergency Medicine Opening Clinical Role:

•  What are the shift times: 8a - 6p, 9a-9p, 3p-1a
•  Number of beds: 25 ED Beds
•  Census: 195/day
•  Daily admissions: 40/day
•  5 Consults per day
•  Patient population: All age groups with 95% being adult
•  Types of Cases: CHF, COPD, Abdominal pain, Strokes, Heart Attack. (General EM case load)
•  High Acuity
•  Support staff: Nursing Techs, transport
•  No call
•  Procedures Required: Suturing, I&D, reductions (assisted by physician)
•  Support staff include: Vital signs, lab draws, Transportation
•  Average patient census: 96/day
•  Common cases the locum will see: URI, cough, cold, abdominal pain, chest pain, shortness of breath, extremity injuries
•  Annual ER admissions: 25%
•  Does the unit use robots: Just for tele neurology/psych
•  EM physicians typically on staff per shift: 1-2
•  PA-C or Licensed as an NP
•  Experience level: At least 2 years of ED
