Job Responsibilities and Duties:
• Serve as the sole provider in the Emergency Department
• Perform wound repairs, including sutures and splints
• Conduct intubations and manage airways
• Round on patients in the Emergency Department
• Stabilize patients for transfer when necessary
• Assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of emergency conditions
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals as needed
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using CTSI evidence system
• Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols
• Manage multiple patients simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Provide patient and family education on treatment plans and follow-up care
Additional Information:
• Must be licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in South Dakota
• Experience with CTSI evidence electronic health record system preferred
• Strong clinical skills in emergency medicine procedures
• Ability to work independently and make critical decisions
• Comfortable working 24-hour shifts (no more than 3 consecutive shifts allowed)
• Flexibility in schedule may be possible to accommodate availability
• Possibility of assignment extension beyond the initial 6 days
