UT Health East Texas is seeking a board-certified emergency medicine (EM) physician or a family medicine (FM) physician with EM experience to join our team as a multi-facility floater. This position offers the flexibility to work across multiple hospital emergency departments in Athens, Gun Barrel City, Quitman, Jacksonville, Henderson, and Carthage. Physicians will provide high-quality emergency medical care to a diverse patient population while enjoying competitive pay, flexible scheduling, and CME opportunities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive emergency medical care in multiple UT Health East Texas emergency departments
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a variety of acute conditions, trauma, and medical emergencies
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, advanced practice clinicians, and specialists
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system
- Adapt quickly to different hospital environments and workflows
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state, and federal regulations
Qualifications- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Board-certified or board-eligible in EM or FM with significant emergency medicine experience
- Active and unrestricted Texas medical license (or ability to obtain one)
- DEA certification
- ACLS, PALS, and ATLS certifications preferred
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills with the ability to work independently
