Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer
Job Description
The Embedded Software Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of software, primarily in C, for embedded applications within the space industry. This role offers the unique opportunity to work directly with multiple engineering disciplines and have a hands-on impact on products going to space.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop embedded software primarily using C.
- Implement and test firmware in various embedded applications.
- Develop C code from scratch for embedded systems.
- Work within regulated environments such as Aerospace, Defense, Space, Medical Device, and Automotive industries.
- Utilize RTOS, including FreeRTOS.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure product quality and performance.
- Utilize tools such as logic analyzers and oscilloscopes.
- Write and maintain Python scripts as needed.
Essential Skills
- Proficient in C programming.
- Experience in firmware development.
- Knowledge of RTOS, including FreeRTOS.
- Experience in regulated industries (Aerospace, Defense, Space, Medical Device, Automotive).
- Ability to use logic analyzers and oscilloscopes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in embedded application development.
- 2+ years of professional software development experience.
- Working knowledge of Python is preferred.
Work Environment
The role involves supporting Artemis and other space programs, working directly with prime government contractors. You will be part of a dynamic team focused on advancing space technology.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $75.00/hr.
