Your Role as an Elementary Teacher - Collaborate and Support: Work with team members, paraprofessionals, support staff, and parents to implement services and foster an inclusive, collaborative environment.
- Lead and Teach: Provide classroom leadership and may teach multiple subjects based on student needs.
- Ensure Student Well-Being: Maintain confidentiality and manage challenging behaviors using appropriate support plans.
- Monitor and Advocate: Track student progress, adjust instructional strategies, and advocate for students' rights and needs, especially those with disabilities.
- Create Positive Learning Spaces: Build engaging, supportive classrooms where all students can thrive.
Role Requirements - Must hold an active PA teaching certification, such as a Private Academic Certificate, Level I or II Pennsylvania Instructional Special Education Certification K-12.
- Alternatively, candidates with a bachelor's degree and at least six credit hours in special education may qualify for a Temporary Private Academic Certificate.
- Must have authorization to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship.
