REPORT TO:Principal JOB MISSION:To assure the smooth and efficient operation of the school office in order to achieve the maximum positive impact on the education of children. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.Provides Primary Support to the School Principal a.Maintains calendar of appointments b.Manages Principal's correspondence c.Takes minutes for School Improvement Council and prepares agenda for meetings 2.Performs clerical duties a.Files b.Mail c.Payroll distribution 3.Performs reception duties in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner. Admits, greets, and directs visitors. Enforce visitor policy by monitoring entrance. 4.Communicates and provides information by relevant methods to parents, students, staff and other stake holders. a.Weekly/daily notices b.Calendars c.Teacher duties d.Scheduling conferences 5.Provides support to other school offices as needed a.Lunch office - lunch count b.Principal's office c.Guidance services 6.Manages, updates, and organizes information relevant to school operation. a.Aesop b.Power School c.Munis d.Student Record Folders 7.Enters and follows up on requisitions through the financial software system. a.Munis software 8.Maintains inventory of school and office supplies. a.Copier b.Teacher supplies 9.Collects and processes funds for various activities according to the District's policies and procedures. a.School Lunch $ b.Field Trips 10.Maintains and Monitors use of office machines and equipment. a.Copiers b.Fax machines 11.Assists with building operations a.Distributes and monitors building internal keys b.Coordinates unfilled classroom coverage through AESOP 12.Manages and maintains financial records (may include handling of cash) a.Budget - transfers, reimbursements, turnover sheets b.Petty cash c.Student activity fund 13.Coordinates and implements special school events a.Kindergarten orientation b.Step-up day 14.Liaison to the PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) 15.Other duties and responsibilities reasonably related to his/her function, as assigned TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: School Year Position, plus 6 days before the school year begins, 6 days after school year ends, and 2 additional days over the summer. Work day: 8:00 am - 3:30 pm, 1-hour lunch (6.5 hours/day) SALARY RANGE: In accordance with the current Agreement between the Longmeadow Education Association (Unit D) and the Longmeadow School Committee.
