French or Spanish Language Teacher


The Perkins School is seeking a part-time Foreign Language Teacher to join our teaching team. The ideal candidate has experience teaching French or Spanish at an elementary school level, is familiar with best-practices for supporting language acquisition, and enjoys working in a small and collaborative elementary school setting.

Job Description:

  • Planning, preparing, and teaching French or Spanish classes to students in grades k-5
  • Write reports twice yearly for students
  • Communicate effectively with parents, students, and colleagues
  • Collaborate with core classroom teachers to effectively meet the needs of all learners
  • Curriculum research and documentation

Job Requirements:

Candidates should have the following:


  • Fluency in either French or Spanish
  • Formal teacher training
  • Experience teaching elementary age children in a classroom setting
  • Experience providing language instruction
  • Willingness to work closely with colleagues
  • Strong writing and oral communication skills

Candidates should also have the following characteristics:

  • A self-starter that has ideas for engaging students in a dynamic, experiential curriculum
  • Deeply well-liked by students and their parents
  • Collaborate well in team teaching situations
  • Enjoy all children and have respect for childhood
  • Progressive approach to teaching and learning
  • Demonstrates familiarity with current research and best practices in language learning

Compensation and Benefits:


This is a part-time position. The salary range for this position is $30,000 to $40,000 depending on experience.
