Electronics Test Technician - Wiring Devices

Location: Research Triangle Park (RTP), NC

Schedule: Monday - Friday On-site in the Laboratory

Join our Wiring Devices team as an Electronics Test Technician, where you'll play a crucial role in product validation and compliance testing. In this hands-on role, you'll set up and conduct electrical tests, analyze performance data, and collaborate with engineers to ensure product reliability and safety. Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and execute electrical and functional tests for wiring devices and related products.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Analyze test results, identify issues, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Operate and maintain specialized laboratory equipment and testing machines.
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop new test setups and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Prepare detailed test reports and communicate findings to internal teams and clients.
  • Ensure lab efficiency by performing routine maintenance and basic equipment calibration.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing accuracy and processes.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree in Electronics preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in an electronics testing, lab technician, or product validation role.
  • Strong technical skills in reading schematics, using measuring instruments, and troubleshooting test setups.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with engineers, management, and customers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with automation tools is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team environment.

What you'll experience working at UL:

  • Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated salary range for this position is $40,000 and $56,000 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 5% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental, and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
