MTM Engineering has an exciting new opportunity for an Electrical Tester to join our growing testing team on a Data Centre project in London. The successful candidate will be part of the current on-site QA/QC team and report to the lead QA team member on site.

The Role

As an Electrical QC Tester, your responsibilities include conducting pre-test inspections, compiling defect reports, notifying the Project Manager of hazards, testing low voltage installations, and issuing reports. Additional duties involve verifying drawings, updating cable schedules, completing test records, assisting with torquing cables, and closing out project issues.

Responsibilities
  1. Carry out pre-test inspections on site and compile defect reports ensuring compliance with electrical regulations.
  2. Notify the Project Manager and QC lead of any non-conformances or hazards.
  3. Test Low Voltage (LV) installations as required by national standards.
  4. Verify Redlined Drawings for the LV installation being tested.
  5. Update cable schedules for any changes made.
  6. Complete Test Record Sheets according to international standards and client requirements.
  7. Assist in torquing LV cables after testing.
  8. Support close-out of project issues, investigations, and queries.
The Person
  • City & Guilds 2391 - Electrical Inspection and Testing Course completed.
  • Must hold a Gold ECS Card.
  • Technical knowledge and experience of Low Voltage systems and regulatory requirements, including international standards.
  • Ability to read detailed electrical drawings and cable schedules.
  • Ability to fault find and diagnose issues during testing.
  • IPAF/MEWP training is desirable but can be provided.
