About the Role:
BrickRed Systems is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Hardware Test Engineer - Electrical to join our dynamic team in Redmond, WA. The ideal candidate will focus on oscilloscope testing and electrical validation of hardware components and systems. This is a fantastic opportunity for recent graduates or early-career professionals to build a solid foundation in hardware testing within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform oscilloscope-based testing and analysis of electrical signals in hardware prototypes and production units.
- Validate hardware components and systems for signal integrity, timing analysis, voltage levels, noise margins, and transmission line characteristics.
- Assist in designing and executing test plans, documenting procedures and results clearly and thoroughly.
- Work with cross-functional teams including electrical, mechanical, and firmware engineers to debug and resolve issues.
- Maintain lab equipment including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, power supplies, and other test instruments.
- Follow test schedules and report progress, issues, and results in a timely manner.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and lab efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 0-4 years of experience in a hardware testing, validation, or R&D role.
- Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes and other standard lab equipment.
- Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit fundamentals.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, datasheets, and technical documents.
- Familiarity with tools such as MATLAB, LabVIEW, or Python for data analysis (preferred).
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in teams.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):
- Experience working with high-speed signal testing and/or automated test systems.
- Knowledge of signal integrity concepts, including impedance matching, reflections, and crosstalk.
- Familiarity with PCB debugging and rework.
- Internship or project experience involving hardware validation or testing.
