Position Overview: Electrical Territory Sales Manager Join our dynamic team in electrical power system maintenance, repair, testing, and training as we seek an enthusiastic Territory Sales Manager. Shermco is ISO certified and a proud member of EASA, AWEA, and PEARL, recognized for our accredited services by NETA, PEV, SKF, and ANAB. As a founding member of NETA, we offer one of the largest field services divisions in the industry.
Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent education and experience in a related field.
- 3+ years of proven outside B2B sales experience, ideally within engineering, industrial, or heavy commercial markets, particularly in power-related fields including electrical equipment testing and maintenance.
- Demonstrated self-direction and high motivation.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with a solid grasp of financial metrics.
- Proficient sales and negotiation skills, capable of engaging key decision-makers and identifying new business opportunities.
- Technical knowledge and consultative skills are essential.
- Willingness to travel overnight up to 20% of the time.
- Basic proficiency in Excel, Word, Adobe, and Microsoft Outlook.
Key Responsibilities: - Manage and grow accounts with industrial clients, data centers, hospitals, and electrical contractors while promoting Shermco's comprehensive electrical services.
- Conduct direct sales and business development activities to achieve set sales targets.
- Evaluate prospective sales opportunities and determine the best paths to pursue.
- Responsible for meeting multi-million dollar sales budgets annually.
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies.
- Assist with drafting estimates, sales proposals, and preparing impactful sales presentations.
- Regularly visit assigned accounts to maintain strategic relationships and identify new opportunities.
- Keep current with industry knowledge and enhance technical skills based on market demands.
- Support key marketing initiatives including road shows, national conferences, trade shows, and training sessions to drive sales growth.
- Manage pricing and address channel issues as needed.
- Facilitate customer relations from sales through to securing purchase orders and terms.
- Conduct site assessments as required.
- Serve as a liaison between sales and production to qualify business opportunities.
- Lead customer discussions and coordinate training events.
- Log sales activity into the CRM system.
Additional Requirements: - Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods.
- Must pass a fit-for-duty physical exam when necessary.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and ongoing random drug tests.
- Background check clearance is mandatory for employment.
- A valid driver's license and a good driving record are required.
- Ability to travel overnight approximately 5 - 10% of the time for customer visits and trade shows.
- Willingness to drive, work at a desk on a PC, and visit various customer sites with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English is essential.
