Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Development and implementation of settings files for SEL protection relays and RTAC units, focusing on data concentration, HMI, and logic functionality.
- Integration of electrical SCADA systems using platforms such as OSI AspenTech, enhancing real-time monitoring and control capabilities.
- Conduct onsite programming, field testing, and commissioning of electrical protection, control, and SCADA systems to ensure high-quality operational standards.
- Create comprehensive and detailed electrical construction packages which include Single Line Diagrams, Three Line Diagrams, and various connection and logic diagrams.
- Generate power relay settings and supervise their implementation within the systems to maximize efficiency and reliability.
- Document all processes and maintain records of all configuration adjustments and integration steps taken, ensuring repeatability and adherence to standards.
- Provide emergency response support after hours, aiding both internal and external clients to resolve urgent issues efficiently.
- Work closely with Project Managers to ensure technical accuracy, budget adherence, and quality of deliverables in electrical engineering projects.
- Assist in developing cost-effective proposals for new projects by providing precise technical insights and estimation for labor, expenses, and procurement needs.
- Frequent travel (approximately 40%, including air travel) to various project sites for implementation, testing, and client interactions.
Minimum Position Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
- 4-8 years of relevant experience in power systems, specifically in programming and configuring SEL RTACs and developing HMI interfaces, logic, and data concentrator functionality.
- Proven expertise in integrating and maintaining SCADA systems for electrical utilities, with a preference for knowledge in OSI AspenTech or similar platforms.
- Understanding and application of essential communication protocols including DNP3, MMS, and GOOSE, with additional familiarity with IEC 61850 standards.
- Capability to produce detailed electrical construction packages, inclusive of schematics, diagrams, and technical documents.
- Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are imperative.
Preferred Qualifications: - Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam.
- Experience with GE Multilin and SEL systems for power relay settings generation and implementation.
- Proficiency with power system modeling tools like ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower is highly favourable.
- Comprehensive understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC), National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), and IEEE 3000 Series standards.
