Electrical Manager (Specialist Electrical)


Salary: £37,938 - £40,476 per annum (Grade 9)

Hours: 37 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

Location: Dudley Central

Dudley Council are seeking to appoint an Electrical Manager (Specialist) to assist in the management and provision of a complete Electrical / Technical / Mechanical / Civils / Building installation and maintenance service for the Council's Housing Assets and Development services.

Housing Assets and Development services are the landlord for Council owned properties and offer a range of services to tenants.Within this section, there is a Communal Assets and Specialist team who deliver planned maintenance and improvements to homes, sheltered schemes and flatted development to ensure it meets decency and current standards.

You will ensure high standards, minimal defects and high customer satisfaction and be responsible for producing technical specifications, feasibility studies and full-on site contract administration together with procurement, payment and cost control to building works and technical systems that primarily include:


• Electrical systems and infrastructure


• Specialist technical systems and infrastructure, including those that provide security and support to vulnerable residents


• Passenger lifts including consultancy services


• Major and minor installation works


• Full property refurbishment works


• Term and consultancy contracts


• Community improvement works


• Compliance and audit works

You will play a critical role within the Communal Assets Team producing contract documentation for various electrical contracts and management of various contractors including specialist work i.e., Lifts, CCTV, Door Entry System, Warden Call system, Water Booster systems and many more.
We are also now moving into the new exiting generation of Digital Technology and our team is at the forefront of making a difference for our residents and this will be an exciting time to join us and be involved in the new innovation.

The successful candidate will possess a good standard of education with minimum professional/trade qualifications of

:
• City & Guilds 236/2360, parts 1, 2 and C (electrical installation or similar)


• City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing


• HNC/HND in a building or electrical engineering capacity


• Electrotechnical Certification Scheme (ECS)

We are looking for someone with proven experience of managing performance of contractors and electrical trade operatives and of managing, planning and co-ordinating repairs, maintenance and building related projects, advising on and supporting management on technical issues and hazards where necessary.
