Electrical Maintenance Specialist

Location: Sanford, NC

Pay: $28-$32/hr + $1/hr shift differential for night shift

Shift: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM (12-hour shifts on a 2-2-3 schedule) OR 6:00AM-6:00PM

Job Summary

The Electrical Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing plant equipment with a focus on electronic components and programming. This role ensures operational efficiency through preventive maintenance and technical upgrades.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair plant equipment by checking voltages, replacing faulty components, adjusting gauges, and modifying cameras and software.
  • Program and troubleshoot PLCs, CNC systems, Servo motors, and AC Motion Controls.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance inspections and services on machinery.
  • Identify causes of mechanical and electrical failures and implement timely repairs.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of maintenance activities and repairs.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and inventory of tools, parts, and shop areas.
  • Inspect electrical systems and components using diagnostic tools (oscilloscopes, voltmeters, ohmmeters).
  • Review blueprints and wiring diagrams for accurate repairs and installations.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and fault notifications.
  • Recommend and research upgrades for outdated machine controls.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in electronic troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and programming instructions.
  • Familiarity with various machine software systems.
  • Solid understanding of basic algebra and metric/standard unit conversions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Education and Experience

  • Preferred: Associate's Degree in Electronics or a related field.
  • Experience: 2-5 years in electronic control troubleshooting within a manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and maneuver to service equipment.
  • Visual acuity to inspect machinery accurately.
  • Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
