About this Role
We're seeking a skilled Electrical Field Service Specialist to support the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of electrical systems across multiple production facilities. This role will focus on preventive and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of electrical assets ranging from low to high voltage systems
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and maintain industrial electrical distribution systems, including:
- Substations, switchgear, MCCs, breakers, relays, transformers (up to 138kV)
- Motors (induction and synchronous) up to 40,000 HP / 15kV
- UPS systems, battery banks, and backup generators up to 1500kW
- Execute preventive maintenance tasks and procedures
- Perform predictive maintenance (IR thermography, transformer oil analysis, power quality, etc.)
- Participating in root cause analyses of major failures and help develop corrective actions
- Identify and resolve chronic equipment issues ("bad actors")
- Assist with turnaround planning and electrical cost estimation
- Analyze performance data to ensure equipment operates at peak efficiency
- Provide remote or on-site guidance to plant or contract personnel
- Maintain a strong sense of urgency and ownership in resolving critical issues
Required:
- 5+ years of experience maintaining medium voltage (5kV-15kV) systems in an industrial setting
- Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with high-voltage electrical systems
- Hands-on knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices
- Comfortable working independently and collaborating in team environments
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency in standard software tools (MS Office, email, etc.)
- Willingness to travel up to 50% across the Southeast region
Preferred:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering / Technology, or Journeyman Electrician license
- Familiarity with industry standards, codes, and regulations
- Experience with instrumentation and control systems in a manufacturing setting
- Previous use of CMMS platforms like Infor EAM
