Electrical Engineer Location: Reston, Virginia, United States
Client will pay for relocation costs for those outside of the DC Metro area District Partners has been engaged to assist with the hiring of an experienced Electrical Engineer to join its team. The firm is a cutting-edge technology company specializing in advanced solutions for defense and national security. This role focuses on designing and developing high-performance hardware products that integrate AI, autonomy, sensor fusion, and advanced networking technologies to support mission-critical operations. What You'll Do Collaborate with a cross-functional team to develop state-of-the-art hardware solutions.
Lead full-cycle PCB design, including requirement gathering, schematic design, component selection, layout supervision, prototyping, testing, debugging, and system integration.
Drive product maturity through rapid prototyping, design verification, and qualification processes.
Develop highly reliable, manufacturable assemblies using modern design standards.
Implement complex circuit designs, including high-speed digital, precision analog, RF, and high-power applications.
Establish internal design-for-manufacturing (DFM) guidelines to ensure quality fabrication and assembly.
Conduct peer and cross-discipline design reviews.
Perform low-level firmware development for hardware bring-up and testing.
Troubleshoot and conduct root cause analysis to support production operations.
Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while adapting to evolving customer needs. Required Qualifications
7+ years of experience in hardware product development.
Expertise in PCB layout, including mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing considerations.
Strong ability to read and interpret schematics while applying best practices for circuit design.
Familiarity with standard communication interfaces such as Ethernet, CAN, I2C, SPI, PCIe, and USB.
Knowledge of MCU, CPU, and FPGA technologies.
Strong foundation in modern analog and digital electronics.
Ability to set priorities and work independently within broad guidelines.
Experience with E-CAD tools such as Altium Designer.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Active U.S. Secret security clearance required. Preferred Qualifications
Understanding of MIL-STD-810 and relevant military environmental qualification standards.
Familiarity with MIL-STD-461 and military electromagnetic compatibility standards. Salary Range
$120,000 - $200,000 USD The salary range is an estimate based on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and skill set. Compensation packages may also include equity grants or other benefits.
