Electrical EngineerDepartment: Technical/ProfessionalLocation: Tampa, FL - OnsiteRole Type: Contract to HireFull-time position (9/80 Schedule with 7am start time)About Our ClientOur client is a leading aerospace and defense contractor specializing in the development of advanced flight simulation systems for military and commercial applications.Job DescriptionAs an Electrical Engineer specializing in flight simulation, you will develop and apply advanced electrical engineering design methods, CAD tools, theories, and research techniques to investigate and solve complex technical problems. This role involves translating aircraft data into simulation solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams to create comprehensive electrical systems that accurately replicate aircraft functionality.Duties and Responsibilities Collect aircraft data for panels, instruments, and systems to design comprehensive simulation solutions. Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to develop design solutions for computational, network, and data storage requirements. Participate in preliminary and detailed design reviews both internally and with customers. Create lighting and power distribution designs to support simulation models. Develop system, cable, and harness drawings in support of flight simulation products. Analyze and interpret advanced technical data using knowledge of simulator and aircraft systems. Ensure effective information flow within the design team. Prepare work packages and review junior engineers' design output. Determine methodologies required to resolve various technical problems. Review internally developed technical publications for accurate representation of electrical products. Authorize documentation for release and change. Develop engineering orders and document engineering change notices to reflect design evolution. Stay abreast of modern engineering concepts through personal initiative and continuing education. Coordinate activities with peer engineers and other project personnel to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Required Experience/Skills Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required. Minimum 7+ years of experience in a related electrical engineering field. At least 2 years of experience in the simulation industry. Working knowledge of CAD applications, preferably MicroStation. Demonstrated knowledge of electrical engineering concepts and practices. Understanding of NFPA 70: National Electrical Code and familiarity with IEC standards. Proven ability to design electrical solutions from OEM data. Resourcefulness and knowledge in developing spreadsheets and databases. Ability to work effectively in a dynamic design environment. Eligibility to obtain a DoD Personal Security Clearance. Nice-to-Haves Working knowledge of Military Specifications & Standards / ANSI. Experience with aircraft electrical systems design or maintenance. Advanced CAD certifications or specialized training. Experience with electrical system integration and testing. Knowledge of avionics systems and aircraft instrumentation. Previous experience in aerospace or defense industries. Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Experience with simulation software development or integration.
