We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer II to join our dynamic Product Development team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and maintenance of high-power analog and digital LED and power control circuit boards. This is a highly collaborative role requiring close interaction with firmware, mechanical, optical, and thermal engineers to bring cutting-edge lighting products to life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop analog and digital circuit boards for LED lighting and power control applications
  • Perform circuit simulation and analysis using LTSpice
  • Manage the full lifecycle of existing designs including component monitoring, evaluation of alternatives, and specification updates
  • Conduct live circuit testing and debugging to ensure performance and reliability
  • Maintain well-organized and accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams for integrated product development
  • Communicate effectively on product testing, component status, and firmware/hardware interfacing
  • Apply knowledge of thermal properties, heat transfer, and PCB construction in design
  • Conduct real-world LED performance testing based on theoretical models
  • Assemble prototypes in-house and create PCB test/programming fixtures
  • Work with purchasing and manufacturing teams to avoid supply chain issues
  • Train production teams on new designs and updates
  • Develop and maintain test specifications and procedures for circuit boards
  • Deliver timelines and key electrical design deliverables to meet product launch goals
  • Stay updated on electronic innovations and assess their integration into products
  • Troubleshoot and resolve customer-reported issues in coordination with Support and Sales teams
  • Coordinate tasks and deliverables with 3rd party engineering and design partners

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of recent experience in PCB and PCBA design and layout
  • 3+ years of experience in circuit simulation using LTSpice
  • 3+ years of experience in analog and digital low-voltage circuit design
  • 3+ years of experience using Altium for schematic capture and PCB design
  • 2+ years of experience in PCB manufacturing processes and working with contract manufacturers
  • Understanding of Embedded hardware design and firmware integration
  • Exceptional problem-solving and diagnostic skills
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
  • Effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ layer PCB design experience
  • Experience in Embedded hardware and systems
  • Familiarity with PSpice and Altium simulation tools
  • CID or CID+ certification
  • Experience with C+ and C programming languages
  • Background in lighting systems and/or automotive electronics

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to travel occasionally (approx. 10%) for meetings, tradeshows, and field testing
  • Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as needed for testing, support, or deadlines
